Ingredients
  • 1 lb dry Great Northern Beans, soaked and cooked
  • ½ lb ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 1 TBSP bacon grease or oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped fine
  • ¾ cup carrot, finely chopped
  • ½ cup celery, finely chopped
  • 2.3 cup hot water
  • ¼ cup organic ketchup
  • ¼ cup blackstrap molasses
  • 4 tsp dry mustard
  • 4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mild yellow curry powder
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  2. In a large dutch oven, saute onion, celery, and carrot over medium heat until just soft.
  3. Add all remaining ingredients and stir gently to combine.
  4. Put the lid on the dutch oven and bake covered for 4 hours (add some extra water if the beans start to look dry)
  5. Remove cover for the final 15-30 minutes of baking.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
