Every single Christmas season my mother’s mother, Grammy, would make the most delicious Swedish Pepparkakor cookies. For the uninitiated, pepparkakor is a thin, crisp, spicy molasses cookie that is a little like gingerbread, but SO much better. My grandparents...
Just in time for Thanksgiving! Growing up one of the family favorites for any major holiday was that quivering, jewel-like mass of crimson joy known as Cranberry Sauce. It always came in a can, was sometimes sliced, but it was always delicious. And once I turned a...
Just in case you saw the new Essential Oils available for a $1 at Target.. ( A FREAKING $1).. lets educate REALLLL quick..
Y'all I have 5 kids. I am ALL for a good deal. Like going to Chikfila and getting an insane amount of points for ordering for a basketball team. Or buying things at bulk at Costco.
What is not a good idea, is purchasing cheap oils because you think they're the same as what I talk about. They are not even in the same ballpark.. Actually, if we are truly educating and talking about the benefits of oils... lets talk about the 4 different Grades of Essential oils..
There is 4 ..
Grade D is called "floral" water- its aromatic only and used usually by a by-product of Grade A distillation. There is no medicinal properties in these (insert $1 oil😒)
Grade C oils are perfume oils that often contain adulterating chemicals. There are usually solvents- like hexane to gain a higher yield of oil per harvest. Solvents are normally cancerous. Thats whats in STORE BOUGHT OILS. They are also typically diluted 80-95% with ALCOHOL. Again, no benefit to your health, actually harmful.
Grade B oils are food grade- but may contain synthetics, pesticides, fertilizers, chemical extenders or carrier oils.
Grade A are Young Living oils and are Therapeutic, medicinal and made from organically grown plants, distilled at low temperatures, ONE TIME.
Did you also know that Essential oils aren't regulated at ALL by the FDA? Did you also know that any company can slap the "100% PURE ESSENTIAL OIL" label on the front and only 5% of it has to be an actual plant?😳 (GASP- YES)
Which means the company itself and the ground which its planted, and the seed which is bought, and the soil that it grows in, and the way its picked, and the ways its distilled and the way its bottled are all very important to know how its done and made sure thats its actually LEGIT. (YL)
I have had the honor of visiting several farms. We goooodd there folks and we run this show. SO👏 STOP👏 BUYING👏THIS👏 CRAP and using it the same way I tell you to use YL oils, because its the not the same and you're NOT going to get the same results.. or any results for that matter.
